Tours

While a tour is not necessary to view the Estate or the grounds, it can be a fun experience to explore parts of the home that are not accessible with general admission tickets!

    Rooftop Tour

    A truly memorable experience featuring rare photo opportunities, this exclusive guided tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the design and construction of Biltmore House in areas unavailable on the regular house visit. Imagine yourself a Vanderbilt (or cherished Vanderbilt guest) as you take in stunning views seen only from the house’s rooftop and balconies.

    Biltmore House Backstairs Tour

    Travel back in time as your guide shares the fascinating stories of the people who worked and lived on the estate in the Vanderbilt’s era. Taking you behind the scenes to rarely-seen domestic staff’s areas, this exclusive 60-minute tour gives you an in-depth look at what it was like to work at America’s Largest Home®.

    Red Wine & Chocolate Tasting

    Discover why chocolate and red wine are a match made in heaven! Featuring locally produced artisan chocolates from French Broad Chocolate, and an opportunity to taste and experience the tactile attribute of a raw cacao bean, this tasting provides information about wine production at Biltmore and its effects upon the finished product.

Activities To Book

From guided bike rides, rafting trips, horse-drawn carriage rides, to archery and falconry there’s something for everyone to do while visiting the estate!

    Board a 6-passenger vis-a-vis carriage for a leisurely 60-minute ride that offers breathtaking Blue Ridge mountain views and a rarely-seen view of Biltmore House’s west façade.

    This relaxing, easy-paced adventure takes you along the French Broad River and the estate’s lush agricultural fields. Your three-to five-mile spin over a combination of flat paved trails, gravel-packed roads, and dirt trails includes occasional stops where your guide will share intriguing tidbits about the Vanderbilts, their guests, and the estate’s natural history.
