1. Wildcat Rock Trail

Location: 3823 Gerton Hwy, Gerton, NC

Total Distance: 3.5 miles out and back

This trail features a waterfall and is rated as moderate.

2. Rattlesnake Lodge

Location: Weaverville, NC

Total Distance: 3.7 mile loop

This trail offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate.

3. Lunch Rocks Trail

Location: 382 Blue Ridge Pkwy, Asheville, NC

Total Distance: 4.9 miles out and back

This trail offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate.

4. Sam Knob

Location: Canton, NC

Total Distance: 2.5 miles out and back

This trail features a waterfall and is rated as moderate.

You can do Sam's Knob Loop by combining the Sam Knob Trail, Little Sam Knob Trail, Mountain-to-Sea Trail, and the Flat Laurel Creek Trail. This route passes several waterfalls and creeks along the way. Take the short spur off Sam Knob Trail to the top of Sam Knob, reaching 6068 ft."

5. Little Butt and Point Misery Hike via Big Butt Trail

Location: Burnsville, NC

Total Distance: 2.5 miles out and back

This trail features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.

6. Trombatore Trail

Location: Gerton, NC

Total Distance: 4.7 miles out and back

This trail features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate.

7. Hard Times Loop

Location: Arden, NC

Total Distance: 6.4 miles out and back

This trail features a river and is rated as moderate.

8. The Boogerman Trail

Location: Maggie Valley, NC

Total Distance: 7.3 miles out and back

This trail features a river and is rated as moderate.
